What You Can Do to Help Right Now

Sarah Wolf Florence, Updates

Now that Hurricane Florence is gone, we know that many of you are wondering how Seacoast is responding and how you can help. It seems counterintuitive, but one of the most important things to do after a crisis is… wait. We are currently waiting for experts to go in and assess needs including financial support, goods and supplies, and areas that require teams of volunteers.

So what is Seacoast doing right now to help? Today we are sending an experienced team of leaders to Conway, SC, and into some of the hardest hit areas of NC. They will begin to assess where we can help with financial gifts and donations, and where our teams of volunteers can begin to make an impact. Additionally, we’ve made financial gifts to Life Point Church and Life Community Church in Wilmington, NC, C3 Church in Raleigh, NC which is currently set up as a medical clinic (you can give to those efforts here: Give) and Manna Church in Fayetteville, NC which is currently set up as a housing shelter (you can give to those efforts here: Give).

As we wait to hear more information, here are a couple of ways that you can help right now with a few of our partners:

We are in constant communication with churches who need our help and churches who want to help, as well as organizations who want to partner with us in relief efforts. We are committed to responding in ways that are wise and will yield the most effective, long-term results.

We aren’t simply going to react to this crisis. We are going to act with responsibility and intentionality. We will go where we are needed, we will do whatever it takes.
